Picky Eaters Group

This is a group for children ages 3-6 that have limited the variety of foods they are wiling to eat on a regular basis. The goal of this group is to expose children to a variety of tasks, textures and smells in a safe, social context. This group is not appropriate for children with extreme gagging or retching with food introduction, extremely limited texture preferences or oral motor delays that would limit their ability to be safe with the introduction of a new food. This group will meet twice weekly for 45 minutes to allow for intensive exposure to new feeding opportunities. Families will be given weekly home program suggestions in order to support a well-rounded experience. This program will be run by two occupational therapists trained in sensory integration and feeding. It will run for 8 weeks for a total of 16 sessions.
